General Information:
The NCB Group Limited is one of the largest financial service conglomerates in Jamaica and the Caribbean. What is now referred to as the National Commercial Bank of Jamaica Limited first began when the Colonial Bank of London, commenced operations in Jamaica in 1837. Through a series of mergers and acquisitions, it became the National Commercial Bank in 1977. In 2002 the AIC Group, led by Jamaican-Canadian billionaire Michael Lee-Chin, acquired 75% of the shares in the bank.
NCB offers a wide range of banking and financial services. The group also has total assets of US$3 billion and total equity of US$300 million as of March 2005. The core subsidiary companies comprises of NCB Capital Markets Limited, which offer securities, stock brokerage, fund and investment management services; West Indies Trust Company offering pension and property management services; NCB Insurance Company providing bank-assurance products and NCB (Jamaica) Nominees with registrar service, off-shore banking services via NCB (Cayman) Limited and remittances through Senvia Money Services (UK) Limited.
