Anti-Dumping and Subsidies CommissionWebsite: http://www.mct.gov.jm/Antidumping.htmThe mission of the The Anti-Dumping and Subsidies Commission is to foster fair competition and equity in international trade by vigorously enforcing laws which enhance fair trading practices; and promote public awareness of Jamaica's trade remedies. To implement the laws in a fair, transparent and expeditious manner and to conduct the commission's work with diligence, confidentiality, and integrity. As a signatory to the World Trade Organization (WTO), and in accordance with the country’s rights and obligations, Jamaica has enacted legislation based upon the WTO's Anti-Dumping Agreement on the implementation of Article VI of the GATT 1994, and the WTO Agreement on Subsidies and Countervailing Measures. The Jamaica Customs Duties (Dumping and Subsidies) Act, 1999 (CDDASA) sets out the general investigation process and provides for the imposition of anti-dumping and countervailing duties. The CDDASA established the statutory body called the Anti-dumping and Subsidies Commission (ADASC), whose function is the implementation of the provisions of the Customs Duties (Dumping and Subsidies) Act,1999. |
